From Influence to Impact to Mushrooms

Hi friends!

This is Ryan Williams, and you may know me from The Influencer Economy book, wellness episodes, and hundreds of General Assembly Los Angeles events. How have you been?

A lot has changed in our lives since we started this community in 2013. I am sending you love <3! I have a new email partner in Ghost, sorry for any confusion.

As some of you may know, I left my startup/corporate marketing work. My true calling in life is storytelling, that is always been true. I am learning how to align my storytelling work with my career, and it’s a practice of resiliency. Has your work changed since we first met? I recently got back into stand-up comedy, which brings me a lot of pleasure. I have a new company called L.A. Mushrooms, which is a fungal storytelling company. I have two new books, a fungal stand-up series, mushroom merchandise, and a mycelial stand-up tour coming this fall! Things have changed, thanks for all your support through the years. I am grateful. This newsletter will be about health/wellness, science, ecology, dreams, spiritually, breathing, and storytelling!

My most recent project is a one-person show, which is a mushroom memoir about my life. I am letting go of anything from my past career, and following the energy towards what’s next, which is still evolving. I have faith that this change will bring a whole new set of opportunities beyond what I imagined possible in my old work.

The one-person show is “One man’s return from the mushroom underground."

Through my relationship with mushrooms, I learned how to become resilient like fungi, tap into the mycelial network, live in a decentralized mushroom world.

I consider fungi his older teacher, a mentor, and elder sibling, helping to teach me how to operate in a more intuitive and interconnected way. Until now, I have lived in secrecy for decades without telling anyone about these moments with the mycelium. This show is a mushroom memoir, with anecdotes and stories from my life receiving downloads from the fungi, channeling the mushroom spirit world, and navigating Mother Earth as a representative of the mycelium. I will share stories of cultivating fungi, as much as the fungi have cultivated him. Come join us for a show about one man’s relationship with an entire kingdom of life on earth!
