The Mushroom King Loves Los Angeles

I am The Mushroom King, and the fungi have hijacked my nervous system. I am a puppet for the mushrooms. They are holding me hostage, and they are forcing me to be a comedian in Los Angeles.
I’d rather be living in the middle of the wilderness, living off the land, sharing my life with ten of my best friends, away from any city. Instead, the fungi have taken over my body. They forced me to become a comedian, addressing my own fears, and harnessing my own talents, working towards something much bigger than myself, the planet earth.
Have you seen the TV Show the Last of Us? That movie is based on the cordyceps fungi that take over the nervous system of the leaf cutter ants, spiders, and other insects.
For example, the cordyceps fungi will take over a leaf cutter ant's body. When the leaf cutter ant bites onto a leaf, the fungal spores of the cordyceps will pop-out through the head of the ant, spreading the spores of the cordyceps, aiding in reproduction. (The spores are the reproductive bodies of the fungi)
My work as a comedian is to translate the work of the fungi, making it accessible to as many people as possible.
They have shown me through the work of mycologists and friends like Paul Stamets that humans are on the verge of causing a 6th planetary mass extinction event. This event would wipe out 75% of the planet’s ecosystem of life.
If the fungi are in charge of the planet, which they are, through their underground mycelial network root-like structures, then then we must learn from the fungi.
The question is, if you’re the mushrooms, and you’re in charge of the planet, do you want 75% of the planet to go extinct? Or would you want the human species, that is causing this disaster to go extinct? I am biased to the human experience, since I am a human being. Yet, I’d tell the mushrooms to exterminate us in order to protect the planet from our harm.
Last night The Mushroom King performed at the Hollywood Fringe Festival! A big thanks to The Mushroom King’s friends Randy, Sharree, Sheila, Emma, Marcus, and Brandon for coming out last night!
